It is through the writen word that you can come to truly know yourself. Even if you have a plan before you sit down to write, what comes out can be comething entirely different, something you didn't know you had in you. Writing can help you identify your fears, you hopes, the deepest feelings inside your heart that cannot be understood until you distill them into words, and sometimes you will find something someone else wrote that will move you so profoundly, and help you understand something you had already been experiencing but couldn't put into words.

The path of least resistance

Or more precisely, on avoiding the path of least resistance.
No matter who you are or where you live you face certain expectations of what you should do, what you should be, what you should want. If you simply go along with all of those you will miss out on everything else. But if you go to the other extreme and do the opposite of everything you are expected to do you are just as blind.

There was a time when my major life goal was to perfect laziness into an art form, that is to find a way to get someone else to do all the work for me. That didn't work out so well, as you might have guessed, though it did work well enough for a long time-but no longer. What comes next? I don't know.
